The UJ3593 is a UDS Multi-Series universal joint with 1.377" cap diameter and 3.661" width (cap to cap). It is greaseable (Zerk fitting), meaning periodic re-greasing extends service life dramatically.

Design and Construction

Every U-joint in the UDS lineup is manufactured to the dimensional standard of its series, with bearing cups ground to consistent diameters for a tight, rattle-free fit in the yoke ears. The OSR end style on the UJ3593 determines how the bearing cups are retained -- ensure your yoke uses the same retention style before ordering.

Installation and Service

Press the bearing cups into the yoke ears squarely to prevent cocking, which causes premature failure. If this is a greaseable joint, locate the grease fitting after installation and prime the joint with chassis grease before driving. For sealed joints, no grease service is required, but inspect for wear at each oil change.

Never reuse snap rings or strap bolts. Always replace the fastener hardware when replacing a U-joint. On high-RPM or high-torque applications, have the driveshaft rebalanced after U-joint replacement.
