Driveshaft U-Joint Cross -- UJ2488U, STAKED Series
The UJ2488U is a stock-replacement universal joint cross for STAKED series driveshafts. Cap diameter is 0.944", overall width is 3.464", fitting the yoke bore dimensions used on STAKED series driveshaft propshaft assemblies. This cross is sealed (pre-lubricated, no grease fitting).

Correct Series Identification
Before ordering, confirm your driveshaft uses STAKED series u-joints. Measure across the cap OD of the old joint -- STAKED series measures 0.944". Also check the snap-ring retention style: external snap rings seat in a groove in the yoke ear, while internal snap rings seat in a groove in the cap itself. This cross uses the standard STAKED retention design.
Maintenance Protocol
This is a sealed cross -- no periodic greasing is required. Inspect for play, roughness, and seal damage at every major service interval and replace proactively if wear is detected.
Driveline Angle Check
While the driveshaft is out, check the pinion angle and transmission output angle. Both should be within 1 degree of each other (canceling phasing) and neither should exceed 3 degrees for smooth operation. Adjust pinion angle with shims or adjustable control arms as needed before installing the new joint.
