SA1550-395 1550 Series Inverted / Reverse Slip Assembly Centerline To Weld 8 Inch

An inverted (reverse) slip assembly positions the female spline at the tube end rather than the yoke end -- this is an upgrade path that moves the sliding joint away from the transmission tail housing, reducing transmission seal wear and simplifying service access. The SA1550-395 is rated at 1550 series torque capacity, making it appropriate for heavy-duty truck rebuilds where slip travel and torque are both critical.

• Series: 1550 -- 1.375" cap diameter, high-torque commercial vehicle rating
• Spline count: 16 x 1.750" diameter -- larger spline profile than typical light-truck applications
• C/L to weld: 8.000" -- overall length from shaft centerline to weld face; add tube length to determine total shaft length
• Tube OD: 3.950" -- verify the companion tube OD matches before assembly
• Assembly includes both the inner splined stub and the outer housing as a matched set -- do not mix components from separate assemblies

When installing, apply high-pressure spline grease (moly or EP grease) to the spline bore before engagement. The inverted configuration places the grease reservoir at the high side of the spline, so use a boot or seal to retain grease during operation. Inspect spline condition at each driveshaft service interval; a worn or pitted spline bore accelerates wear on the mating shaft under high-cycle loading.
