MDS27-746 -- 1330 Series Steel Slip Assembly
28 splines on 1.100-inch diameter for 2.500 x 0.065 wall tube. Mid-range driveshaft slip section.
The 1330 series occupies the gap between the 1310 and 1350 in the U-joint hierarchy -- same 1.062-inch cap diameter as 1310 but with a wider trunnion for higher torque capacity. The MDS27-746 slip assembly uses 28 splines on a 1.100-inch spline diameter, which provides more spline contact area than the typical 27-spline configuration, distributing torque across a wider engagement zone.
This stub shaft slip assembly is designed for 2.500 x 0.065 wall tube. The thin 0.065 wall requires careful weld heat management -- excessive heat input will distort the tube and introduce imbalance. Use a rosette or short stitch weld pattern to minimize heat concentration.
