A 0.065" wall on a 4.000" OD tube gives a D/t ratio of 61.5, which places it in the thin-wall category for driveshaft fabrication. Before specifying 3326-41, verify that your operating torque does not induce torsional buckling -- the critical torsional buckling moment for 4130 steel at this wall is approximately 4,200 ft-lb. For high-torque applications above 1,200 ft-lb continuous, the 0.083" wall version (3326-41A or steel equivalent) is the safer choice.

The butt diameter of 3.875" slip-fits inside the tube bore and positions the yoke concentrically before the weld pass. Center-to-weld distance is 1.688", which determines the effective working length of the assembled weld yoke. The 1330-series U-joint interface uses 1.062" snap-ring-style caps, compatible with Spicer 5-153X and equivalent aftermarket crosses.

Apply a light tack weld at 90-degree intervals to hold alignment, verify runout under 0.005" TIR, then complete the full fillet weld. Post-weld stress relief is recommended on safety-critical shafts.
