Driveshaft failures traced back to the yoke weld are almost always a fitment problem -- wrong bore, mismatched series, or inadequate wall engagement. The 1426-30 solves all three: it is machined specifically for 3.000" OD / 0.065" wall steel tube, uses the 1100 series u-joint interface, and provides a 1.500"" center-to-weld dimension that fits standard driveshaft geometry for light passenger car vehicles.

Construction & Reliability
Heat-treated steel construction delivers the torsional rigidity required for heavy-duty propshaft applications, resisting deflection under load. All bearing pockets are machined to series-standard dimensions so standard 1100 u-joint crosses and snap rings drop in without modification.
Fabrication Best Practices
- Clean and deburr the tube end before inserting into the yoke bore.
- Tack weld at four 90-degree positions before completing the circumferential weld.
- Use ER70S or equivalent filler rated for the base metal (STEEL).
- Post-weld, check TIR at the u-joint seat -- reject if above 0.005".
- Dynamic balance the complete shaft assembly before vehicle installation.
Application Suitability
The 1100 series is widely used on light passenger car platforms. Verify that the mating transmission output, transfer case, or differential input uses the same series to avoid cross-series incompatibility at the u-joint interface.
