The D3GS is a UDS tooth-style dust cap designed for 1350 and 1410 series slip yoke applications. This cap threads or snaps onto the open end of the driveshaft slip yoke to seal the spline bore and stop shaft area from road contamination, water intrusion, and debris accumulation. Keeping this cavity sealed directly affects the service life of the stop shaft splines — contaminated splines corrode, seize, and prevent the slip yoke from telescoping freely during suspension travel.
The D3G tooth design refers to the cap's retention or sealing mechanism. The D3GS serves 1350 and 1410 series slip yokes, which share similar stop shaft diameters. The 1350 series U-joint cap diameter is 1.188 inches; the 1410 series also uses 1.188-inch caps but with a wider overall width (4.188" vs. 3.625"). Before ordering D3GS, confirm your slip yoke is designated 1350 or 1410 series and that the existing dust cap matches the D3G pattern. Dust cap compatibility is specific — a cap designed for 1310 series yokes will not properly seal a 1350 or 1410 bore, and vice versa.

Confirm your slip yoke series (1350 or 1410) before ordering D3GS. Inspect the open end of the slip yoke bore for the engagement feature — tooth-style caps require a matching tooth profile on the yoke's dust cap seat. If the yoke uses a smooth press-on or threaded seat, the D3GS tooth pattern will not retain securely. Replace dust caps at every driveshaft service interval if any cracking, distortion, or loss of retention is observed. A missing or failed dust cap allows water to wick into the spline engagement zone, accelerating corrosion on both the yoke splines and the stop shaft splines.
The 1350 and 1410 series slip yokes are common in 3/4-ton and 1-ton truck rear driveshaft applications and in transfer case output configurations on full-size 4WD platforms. When sourcing D3GS as a replacement, confirm it is the D3G style specifically — the D2M (1310 series) and other series caps are not interchangeable with D3G geometry. Mixing cap styles between series will result in an unsecured cap that exits the yoke bore at operating speed.
Install the D3GS by aligning the tooth profile and pressing or threading the cap into the yoke seat until fully engaged. Do not apply impact force to the cap body — this can crack the cap material or distort the sealing geometry.
