A go/no-go gauge at 1.875" will confirm: if the gauge passes through a 1710 bore, the bore is correct; if it does not pass through a 1610 bore, the bore is also correct. Installing a 1610 joint in a 1710 yoke ear bore leaves 0.063" radial clearance per side -- visible as a loose-feeling fit during assembly and a definite failure within hundreds of miles under load. This weld yoke requires the 1710 joint.
