Replacing an end yoke is a straightforward job when you have the right part. The 3304-261 -- a UDS 1330 Series end yoke -- is dimensioned to drop onto the output shaft splines without modification, provided your shaft matches the 1.146" spline diameter and 26-spline count. Pre-Order Verification

Before removing your old yoke, record the following from either the old part or the output shaft:

• Spline diameter: Should match 1.146" for this part
• Spline count: Should match 26
• Snap ring style: BS -- check whether the groove is on the inside or outside of the bearing bore
• Series: 1330 Series -- look for the series stamp on the U-joint caps or the original yoke

Installation Steps

Once you have confirmed fitment, installation proceeds as follows:

1. Remove the old yoke by unthreading the retaining nut and sliding the yoke off the output shaft splines. Mark the driveshaft-to-yoke orientation before disassembly to maintain balance phasing.
2. Clean the output shaft splines with a wire brush and solvent. Inspect for cracks or worn spline flanks.
3. Apply a thin coat of assembly lubricant to the shaft splines. Do not over-lubricate -- excess grease can cause seal contamination.
4. Slide the 3304-261 onto the splines, aligning your reference marks. The hub diameter of 1.552" should register smoothly against the seal bore.
5. Install a new snap ring (BS style) in the groove. Confirm it seats fully around the perimeter.
6. Torque the retaining nut to the vehicle manufacturer's specification.

After installation, lower the vehicle and drive briefly before inspecting for leaks or vibration. Any vibration at highway speed indicates a balance issue -- have the driveshaft rebalanced with the new yoke installed.
