The L35N designation covers a series of U-joints used on select European and South American vehicle applications -- the 31.8MM cap diameter falls between standard domestic inch-size caps, so confirming the cross measurement against the yoke bore before ordering is essential. Do not assume a 1310 (1.062") or 1350 (1.188") domestic cap will fit this series.
OSR (outside snap ring) installation: the snap ring seats in an external groove on the cap itself and is installed or removed from outside the yoke ear. An OSR joint can be serviced without removing the driveshaft from the vehicle in many cases, which is an advantage in field repairs. The sealed (non-greaseable) design is factory-lubed for life; in severe applications, consider upgrading to a greaseable equivalent if available. Check the Spicer/Dana cross-reference catalog for 5-243X to identify compatible yoke ear bore dimensions.
