3680-20 -- Cadillac CTS (2008--2010) Center Support Bearing
The Cadillac CTS uses a two-piece propshaft in its rear-wheel-drive configuration, with a center bearing carrier at the tunnel mid-point. The 3680-20 replaces the factory unit for the 2008--2010 CTS generation, using the 30 mm (1.181") bore matched to the CTS propshaft stub shaft journal.
CTS center bearing failures manifest as a low-frequency drone at 40--70 mph that changes pitch when the transmission is in gear (load-sensitive), distinguishing it from exhaust resonance. The rubber isolator on the 2008--2010 CTS center bearing is especially prone to heat-related hardening due to the propshaft tunnel's limited ventilation. Inspect the removed isolator: if the rubber has a glazed, oil-soaked appearance rather than clean degradation, check for a rear transmission output seal leak, which introduces oil to the isolator and accelerates its deterioration. GM OEM reference: 88951975 applies to the 2008--2010 CTS center support bearing.
