GM Camaro application center support bearing with 1.181″ bore and 2.000″ center-to-base height; rubber-isolated assembly for Camaro two-piece propshaft mid-span hanger position.
Full Description
The Camaro two-piece propshaft uses a specific center hanger bracket geometry calibrated for the car's floor tunnel architecture. The 3680-14 provides the 30 mm bore and 2.000" center-to-base height for Camaro applications where the tunnel crossmember positions the bearing exactly 2.000" below the mounting face.
- Bore ID: 1.181" (30 mm) -- verify the stub shaft OD before installation; Camaro stub shafts can develop wear at the journal under high-load use
- Center to base: 2.000" -- Camaro-specific dimension; do not substitute a generic 2.250" domestic unit
- Rubber isolator: the Camaro application demands an isolator compound capable of handling the harmonic frequencies of the LS-series V8 at performance operating RPM
- Compatible with center support bearing crossmember brackets on applicable Camaro generations
Warning: on modified Camaros with lowered suspension, the propshaft working angle at the center joint increases significantly from stock. Before replacing the 3680-14, check the propshaft angle with an inclinometer at the stub shaft -- angles greater than 3 degrees at the center joint dramatically reduce center bearing service life on performance applications.
