The 3004-231U end yoke slides onto the axle or transfer case output shaft and holds the u-joint cross at the end of the driveshaft. It's a spline-specific fit for 1300 series applications — the spline count determines engagement, the hub diameter determines outer clearance, and the series determines which u-joint cross the ears accept.
