3-83-3281X CV Flange Yoke -- 1350 Series, 3R Application
A CV (constant velocity) flange yoke is not a standard flange yoke -- it incorporates centering geometry that allows the joint to operate smoothly at higher angles typical of front axle driveshaft applications. The 3-83-3281X is the 1350 series CV yoke for the 3R rectangular bolt pattern with a 4.250-inch bolt circle, used on Chrysler/Dodge 4WD front driveshaft configurations.
Do not substitute a standard 1350 flange yoke for this CV yoke -- the standard yoke lacks the CV ball centering feature and will produce a second-order vibration at the front axle operating angle. The CV design keeps the velocity ratio constant through the joint angle, which is critical for steering applications where the shaft angle changes continuously.
