The 2780-18 uses a 0.91" center-to-base height -- an application-specific dimension that places it between the 0.500" 2780-61 and the 1.325" 2780-62 units in the BMW center bearing range. This height reflects a particular BMW chassis geometry where the propshaft sits 0.91" below the crossmember mounting face.
An important engineering note: at sub-1" center heights, the rubber isolator volume is limited, which reduces the assembly's ability to absorb low-frequency driveshaft bending modes. BMW compensates for this with a higher-durometer isolator compound -- the bearing will feel stiffer when compressed by hand than a taller domestic truck unit. This stiffness is correct for the application and should not be mistaken for a defective isolator. BMW OEM cross-references apply depending on chassis code; verify before installation.
