The Mazda CX-5 AWD driveshaft uses a two-piece rear propshaft with a bracket-mounted carrier bearing at the tunnel. The 8.066" mount span on the 2680-14 is wider than most European CSB applications, reflecting the CX-5's wider rear floor structure. An unusual specification on this carrier: the 1.791" center-to-base height is not a round number -- it is set precisely to keep the rear shaft section running within Mazda's 1.5-degree maximum operating angle. If the replacement bracket is shimmed or the mounting holes are wallowed out, the shaft angle changes and vibration returns. Confirm hole spacing with a caliper.
