1480-25 -- Volvo V70 / XC70 Center Support Bearing
On Volvo V70 and XC70 platforms, center support bearing failure usually presents as a vibration between 55 and 75 mph that worsens with temperature. The rubber isolator on these carriers ages and hardens -- hardened rubber stops absorbing shaft harmonics and allows the vibration to propagate into the body shell. By the time the whine is audible, the inner race has typically developed pitting.
Specs: 1.181" bore ID, 1.200" center-to-base, 4.600" mount hole spacing. The narrow 4.600" spread distinguishes the V70/XC70 carrier from the wider Volvo SUV applications (1480-70 at 3.675", 1480-60 at 2.250"). The 1.200" center-to-base is specific to the V70/XC70 -- do not substitute the 1480-75 (1.000" base, Escape/V70 combination variant) without verifying that your exact vehicle spec matches.
