Shimmy at 60, clunk at takeoff, or grease dust around the caps — any one of those means the u-joint is done. The GU7280/4 Mercedes / BMW U Joint 24 x 74.5 | 0.945 x 2.937 Staked / Crimped U Joint is the correct replacement.
The stacked series runs a varies cap diameter across a varies width — built for multi-application use. It's the standard cross on fits multiple series/platforms — verify dimensions. Staked/Sealed Assembly retention (STAKED): Caps are permanently staked at the factory — not designed for individual cap replacement. Entire joint must be replaced as a unit.
Factory-sealed with high-temp grease. No zerk, no service interval. For most daily-driven vehicles, sealed joints outlast greasable ones that never get serviced. Notes: Mostly for Mercedes & BMW APP. Dimensions are 0.945" cap, 2.933" width (secondary) — measure your existing joint or yoke bore before purchasing.
If the cap won't seat cleanly, the bore is wrong. Don't force it.
