An upgrade path scenario: if you removed a worn driveshaft that vibrated and the replacement shaft shows 0.14 oz residual imbalance at the machine, the BW1A closes that gap in one weld rather than requiring a second pass with a smaller shim.

Aluminum at this weight means the physical size is slightly larger than BW1 steel, but both deliver 0.14 oz of correction. Choose aluminum when you need a slightly larger contact surface for the weld bead, or when working on lighter-weight aluminum driveshaft tubes where thermal input during welding must be minimized.
