Subaru application center support bearing with 1.181″ bore and 1.750″ center-to-base height; rubber-isolated ball bearing assembly for Subaru AWD propshaft mid-height hanger.
Full Description
The 9980-50 uses a 1.750" center-to-base height -- one of the taller Subaru AWD center bearing assemblies -- for applications where the crossmember bracket drops significantly below the frame before the mounting face reaches the propshaft centerline. This is found on higher-riding Subaru models or on applications where the propshaft routes through a deeper frame channel.
- Bore ID: 1.181" (30 mm) -- verify with digital micrometer
- Center to base: 1.750" -- adjacent Subaru variants include 1.500" (9980-42) and 2.125" (9980-54); height accuracy is critical
- Rubber-isolated bonded assembly -- no separate isolator components to displace during installation
- Compatible with center support bearing brackets on relevant Subaru models
Tip: if the removed 9980-50 shows a bright wear track on the outer bracket metal (not the rubber) where it contacted the crossmember opening, the bracket was installed with side-loading from a misaligned crossmember slot. Elongated mounting slots often indicate prior front-end impact that distorted the crossmember; correct any frame damage before installing the replacement.
