9980-20 -- Isuzu Tall-Bracket Center Support Bearing, 30 mm Bore
The 9980-20 uses a 3.125" center-to-base height -- the tallest in the Isuzu application range for 30 mm bore assemblies. This extended drop bracket places the center support bearing at the driveshaft centerline when the Isuzu crossmember is positioned significantly above the propshaft, a geometry found in certain Isuzu commercial and medium-duty configurations.
At 3.125", the bracket arm length increases the bending moment at the mounting bolt location compared to shorter units. This makes correct torquing and bracket bolt condition especially important -- use new fasteners if the originals show any thread damage or corrosion, and verify the crossmember mounting surface is flat and free of scale. Isuzu OEM cross-references in the 5-37510 series apply; exact number depends on model, production year, and payload class.
