Full Description
5-248XU -- UDS OSR/ISR Series universal joint. Cap diameter 1.063", width 2.438", greaseable (Zerk fitting). This is a combination/conversion U-joint that bridges two different series, allowing a driveshaft upgrade without replacing both end yokes. Engineered to the OSR/ISR Series dimensional standard for direct replacement in all compatible yoke configurations.

The bearing cup diameter and overall width are the two critical dimensions for U-joint selection. The 5-248XU is sized for OSR/ISR Series yokes -- verify that your yoke bore diameter matches 1.063" before ordering. A U-joint that is even slightly undersized will rock in the bore and fail within hours of operation.

Lubrication and Maintenance
This joint is greaseable (Zerk fitting). A Zerk fitting allows chassis grease injection at regular service intervals. Grease the joint every 5,000 miles or at every oil change -- whichever comes first -- to flush out water and contaminants. Neglecting lubrication is the single most common cause of premature U-joint failure.
