5-1501X -- Nissan/Subaru 1251 Series U-Joint (ISR)
The 1251 series is one of the lightest-duty driveshaft U-joint series in regular use, with a 0.984" cap diameter significantly smaller than domestic 1310-series joints (1.062" cap). Nissan and Subaru AWD systems use this series on the smaller-diameter rear shafts of economy and compact AWD models. Failure in this series often looks different from heavier U-joints -- instead of a sharp clunk, the symptom is a smooth speed-proportional vibration from bearing cage wear at low torque loads.
