- The 40 mm bore must match the stub shaft OD exactly -- even 0.5 mm of clearance causes fretting and premature bearing failure
- Rubber isolator absorbs harmonic vibration from the driveshaft, reducing noise transmitted to the floor pan
- 3.500" center-to-base height -- verify against the crossmember hanger bracket before ordering
- Compatible with center support bearing housings using 40 mm inner ring diameter
When replacing the 3R80-25, check the stub shaft for wear at the inner race contact zone. A worn shaft undersize by even 0.003" will allow the new bearing to spin on the journal, destroying it within miles. Neapco cross-reference: check P/N 2-3049 series for equivalent mount geometry.
