- Bore must match stub shaft OD exactly -- measure before ordering, not after disassembly
- 0.500" center-to-base height sets the driveshaft operating angle; substituting a taller bracket introduces vibration
- Rubber isolator surrounds the bearing housing to absorb NVH from the propshaft
- Use with the correct center support bearing bracket for your chassis
The 2780-59 is engineered for BMW rear-wheel and all-wheel drive platforms that use a two-piece propshaft. BMW specifies close tolerances on the bore: even a 0.002" oversize fit will allow the stub shaft to spin inside the bearing under torque load, destroying the inner race within a few thousand miles. Always verify stub shaft OD before installation.
