Q: The 2780-11 has the shortest center-to-base height (1.000") in the BMW 2780 range -- does this affect shaft angle?
A: Yes, significantly. The short 1.000" carrier places the hanger bearing very close to the tunnel floor. It is specific to BMW models where the floor tunnel is shallow and the propshaft runs nearly parallel to the chassis rail. Using a taller replacement lifts the midpoint of the shaft, increasing rear U-joint working angle and generating vibration.
Q: What is the mount hole span?
A: 4.875" center-to-center -- the narrowest in the BMW 2780 fitment group. The 4.875" span matches a specific tunnel crossmember; it will not bolt up to brackets designed for 5.125", 5.250", 5.500", or 6.300" spans.
