2580-60 -- Audi Driveshaft Center Support Bearing
The 2580-60 targets Audi quattro platforms with a 7.000" bolt circle -- a moderately wide bracket found on mid-sized Audi sedans and crossovers. The 3.000" center-to-base height is a clean engineering round number, suggesting this was a purpose-designed carrier for a specific Audi chassis rather than a cross-application part.
Failure on these units often appears as a rumbling or growling noise that increases with vehicle speed. A quick diagnostic: with the vehicle on a hoist at idle, have an assistant slowly accelerate while you listen near the center hanger point. The noise will intensify at specific shaft speeds corresponding to the inner race RPM. At that point the bearing is already damaged; continue driving and the inner race can seize on the stub shaft, destroying the shaft's machined surface.
