2580-11 -- Audi A8 / S8 Propshaft Center Support Bearing
The 2580-11 is the largest-footprint unit in the 2580 Audi series: 4.921" center-to-base height (nominally 125mm) and 10.236" mount span (nominally 260mm). These dimensions are specific to the Audi A8 and S8 D3/D4 platform, which uses a larger-diameter propshaft tube and a correspondingly taller, wider carrier assembly to match the shaft's geometric requirements at ride height.
A specific failure mode on the A8/S8 is rubber isolator creep: the heavy S8's high-torque V10 or V8 loads the propshaft center section with more rotational inertia, causing the rubber isolator to gradually rotate relative to the outer steel housing over years of service. When the rubber has rotated 5-10 degrees, the carrier is no longer supporting the shaft at the correct phase angle and vibration appears. This is distinct from bearing failure -- the bearing may still spin freely while the isolator has failed.
