At 0.500 pounds (227 grams), the 232698-1 is a substantial heavy correction weight -- far beyond the fine-correction range of the BW-series weights. This level of correction is required on new large-diameter driveshaft fabrications (4+ inch tube) or on driveshafts where tube straightness is at the edge of tolerance. The stainless steel construction makes this the correct choice for marine, agricultural, or off-highway applications where corrosion is a long-term concern.

Welding stainless balance weights to carbon steel tube requires ER309L filler metal to bridge the dissimilar material joint. Full perimeter weld is required at 0.500 lbs -- centrifugal force at 2,500 RPM on a weight this size reaches approximately 100 lbs. A tack-only weld will fail.
