2-28-3817 UDS 1310 Ball Stud Yoke

The 2-28-3817 is a 1310 series ball stud yoke manufactured by UDS. A ball stud yoke is welded to a driveshaft tube on one end, and the ball stud on the opposite end engages a CV joint socket or centering ball assembly in a double-cardan (CV) driveshaft configuration. This design allows high operating angles with reduced vibration compared to a single-cardan U-joint at the same angle.

The tube specification is 2.750X0.083; the weld end seats against tube with that OD and wall combination. The butt diameter is 2.594 inches. The center-U-joint-to-weld dimension is 1.440" inches. The ball stud measures 0.500X0.594 (length x diameter). The 1310 series ranks above 1210 in torque capacity, with a 1.062-inch cap diameter, suited for light-duty trucks, half-ton pickups, and most rear-wheel-drive passenger cars. Fitment & Installation Notes

Confirm the tube OD and wall match 2.750X0.083 before welding the 2-28-3817. The ball stud diameter must correspond to the CV centering socket on the mating component. Ball stud yokes are not interchangeable with standard weld yokes in the same application.
