An often-overlooked detail on this prong: the bolt holes are threaded M12x1.25, not clearance-drilled. Using M12x1.50 pitch fasteners -- which are more common in North American hardware stores -- will cross-thread the holes and destroy the prong face. Always source M12x1.25 pitch hardware when fastening this part to the differential flange. The KIA Sportage and Tucson use a compact 78MM bolt circle that is smaller than the typical domestic truck flange, so verify the mating flange BC before ordering.

The 1.844" butt diameter is sized to weld to a 2.000" OD tube with 0.065" wall. This is a relatively thin-wall tube -- keep heat input low during welding to avoid distortion that raises driveshaft runout. After welding, static balance first, then spin-balance at operating speed. A U-joint matched to the vehicle's original series is required at the companion end of the assembly.

Prong-style driveline connections are not serviceable in the field the same way a standard flange yoke is -- plan to replace the prong and tube as an assembly if significant corrosion or damage is found at inspection.
