Toyota redesigned the Tacoma and Tundra propshaft center bearing bracket geometry beginning with the 2016 model year, using a more compact assembly that differs dimensionally from earlier Toyota applications. The 1380-65 addresses this generation-specific requirement with a 1.260" bore matching the 32 mm stub shaft journal used in 2016+ Toyota truck propshaft designs.
An installation note specific to modern Toyota trucks: the 2016+ Tacoma propshaft uses a three-bolt flange at the differential end and requires precise phasing of the front and rear driveshaft sections during assembly. Misphasing by one spline position at the slip yoke introduces a first-order imbalance. Toyota OEM references include part numbers in the 37230 and 37240 series depending on drivetrain variant -- 2WD applications do not use a two-piece shaft, so confirm AWD/4WD fitment before ordering.
