Full Description
TU383 is 3.000" OD x 0.083" wall DOM steel tube with cross-reference number 24-30-42-7400. Stocked as full 72" sticks and sold either as a complete stick or by the foot.
The 0.083" wall is the thinner of the two primary options in this diameter (compare TU395 at 0.095"). It reduces the tube weight per foot, lowering rotational inertia -- an advantage in performance builds where accelerating and decelerating the driveshaft mass affects powertrain response. The penalty is a lower torsional load capacity, so this selection requires validation against peak drivetrain torque.
