At 0.065" wall, TU365 is the thinnest standard option in the 3.000" OD DOM steel tube range. Use cases are limited to vehicles where torsional load stays within the tube rated capacity -- typically lightly loaded rear-wheel-drive cars, motorsport builds with known torque figures, or applications where the original OEM shaft used this specification.
Why wall thickness matters: driveshaft tubes transmit torque through shear stress across the tube wall. The thinner the wall, the higher the shear stress at a given torque. Exceeding the shear yield strength causes the tube to twist and fail. Before selecting TU365 over TU383 or TU395, compare your actual peak torque against the allowable shear stress for this wall thickness and diameter combination.
