The 16-74-101 (closely related to N16-74-101 and 16-74-11) covers the 1.00-20 UNF slip yoke retaining nut application. The 1.312-inch hex corresponds to a 1-5/16 inch socket, which is specific to this thread size and should not be confused with the 1.625-inch hex used on the larger 1.250-18 nuts.
