Full Description
The 20-74-91 is a standard (non-prevailing-torque) hex nut at 1.250-18 UNF, functionally similar to 231502 and N231502. Used where the transmission output shaft is threaded for the slip yoke retaining nut. The 1.625-inch hex is the standard for this thread size across the Spicer, Neapco, and aftermarket families.

For installations requiring a cotter pin, confirm the transmission shaft has a castle or slotted nut groove configuration. If a cotter pin is required for the application but this standard hex nut is being used, the assembly is not correctly secured -- use a castle nut (NE or similar) with a cotter pin instead of relying on the plain nut torque alone.
