Not all u-joints are interchangeable. The Spicer - 5-795X Universal Joint is spec'd exactly for this series and retention style — measure yours before assuming a universal fit.
The 3R series runs a varies cap diameter across a varies width — built for multi-application use. It's the standard cross on fits multiple series/platforms — verify dimensions. Retention is Inside Snap Ring (ISR) — Circlips seat inside the yoke bore. Common on import vehicles, front axle yokes, and some OEM assemblies. Requires internal snap ring pliers.
Factory-sealed with high-temp grease. No zerk, no service interval. For most daily-driven vehicles, sealed joints outlast greasable ones that never get serviced. Notes: SEALED. Dimensions are 1.125" cap, 2.556" width — measure your existing joint or yoke bore before purchasing.
If the cap won't seat cleanly, the bore is wrong. Don't force it.
