N2-81-1181 -- 1310 Series Yoke Shaft, 32-Spline x 1.378"
A critical installation detail on this part: it carries a 2" pilot diameter and a 3" bolt circle -- both dimensions must match the mating companion flange or differential housing bore before the shaft is installed. Confusing pilot diameter with bolt circle is a common error that results in a loose fit and vibration at operating speed. Cross-reference with Spicer 5-1310X or Dana 1310 series U-joints when servicing the driveline.
The 32-spline x 1.378" profile is standard for many light-truck and medium-duty transfer case outputs. Spline length of 3.500" provides adequate engagement depth for a secure press-fit or slip interface. Boot cap 3R18-321 protects the spline from contamination -- replace it any time the shaft is pulled from the housing. The 1310 series U-joint cap diameter is 1.062", placing it in the lighter end of the Spicer strength range.
Verify the transmission yoke bore and seal diameter match this shaft's hub before assembly. A mismatched seal OD will allow transmission fluid to migrate into the driveline housing, contaminating the spline grease and causing accelerated wear.
