Full Description
1-2018 is a strap kit for the 7290 series U-joint, which uses a 1.125" bearing cup (cap) diameter. The 7290 series is a lighter-duty series used in some light truck, van, and industrial applications. Strap retention requires these kits be replaced every time the U-joint is serviced -- straps should never be reused after removal.

The .250-28 thread is a fine-thread specification. Fine-thread strap bolts provide more clamping force per torque applied than coarse threads, but require careful torquing to the specified value -- overtorquing can strip the fine thread. Always use a calibrated torque wrench and follow the manufacturer spec when installing strap kits.
Strap kits are not interchangeable between series: 1-2018 (7290 series, 1.125" cap) is dimensionally different from 1-2024 (1310/1330 series, 1.062" cap). Using the wrong kit will result in misaligned bolt holes or insufficient clamp load.
