Standard U-joints have a fundamental limitation: as the operating angle increases, the output velocity fluctuates relative to the input — a phenomenon that introduces vibration, NVH, and accelerated wear that gets worse the steeper the angle becomes. CV double joint heads solve this problem by using two U-joints in a single compact assembly, configured so their individual velocity fluctuations cancel each other out and produce true constant velocity output regardless of the operating angle. This makes them essential in lifted truck applications, front driveshafts, and any build where the driveshaft geometry forces angles that a single U-joint simply can’t handle smoothly. Our CV double joint heads are built for these demanding applications — precision-assembled, properly greased, and sized to fit the shaft and yoke configurations where they’re needed most.
