TU27583 occupies the middle position in the 2.750" DOM tube range. At 0.083" wall it provides more torsional capacity than the 0.065" wall version (TU27565) while remaining lighter than TU27595 at 0.095". This makes it a reasonable choice for mildly loaded applications where rotating mass reduction has some priority but torque levels exceed what the thinner-wall tube can handle safely.
Driveshaft builders selecting tube stock should calculate required wall thickness based on drivetrain peak torque, shaft length, and operating RPM. Longer shafts are more susceptible to critical-speed (whirl) failures, which depend on tube stiffness -- a function of both diameter and wall thickness.
