2480-40 -- Lexus: Bore 1.181" — Center-to-base 0" (flush) — Mount span 5.750" C-to-C
Lexus rear-wheel drive and AWD platforms (GS, IS, LS, RX series) use two-piece driveshafts with a floor-mounted carrier. The 2480-40 targets Lexus applications with a 5.750" bracket span and flush mount profile. Lexus center support bearings tend to last well beyond 100,000 miles under normal use, but fail earlier on track-driven or lowered cars where the increased U-joint angles stress the inner race continuously.
A Lexus-specific installation note: the carrier bracket on some GS and IS models uses a rubber-bonded subframe that itself can degrade. If the new CSB vibrates shortly after installation, check the bracket's mounting points -- a soft subframe mount allows the bracket to oscillate at shaft frequency, defeating the CSB's NVH isolation function.
