Full Description
TU35134 is 3.500" OD DOM steel tubing with a 0.134" wall thickness, sold by the foot for custom driveshaft fabrication. The heavier 0.134" wall versus the more common 0.083" increases the tube's torsional moment of inertia, which directly raises the torque it can transmit before yield. This makes TU35134 appropriate for applications where engine output has been increased beyond OEM levels or where the driveshaft must pass through an unusually tight operating angle that amplifies stress.
DOM construction ensures the weld seam is cold-worked closed during the mandrel-drawing process. This eliminates the stress concentration that can cause ERW tube to crack at the seam under cyclic torsional loading.
