TU2595 — 2.500″ OD x 0.095″ wall DOM steel tube, 72″ full stick or by foot. One of the most common driveshaft tube sizes for compact and mid-size vehicles.
Full Description
2.500" OD is one of the most frequently used driveshaft tube diameters for compact cars, small trucks, and older domestic vehicles. TU2595 stocks this diameter with 0.095" wall in two ordering formats: a full 72" stick or sold by the foot.
The 0.095" wall handles torque loads suitable for naturally aspirated engines in the 200-350 lb-ft range at moderate shaft lengths. As shaft length increases, the critical whirl speed decreases -- so for longer shafts, a stiffer tube (larger OD or thicker wall) or a two-piece assembly with center bearing is needed to keep the first critical speed above the operating RPM range.
