The 2-2-479 solves one specific problem: connecting a 1310 series driveshaft to a companion flange with a 3.750" bolt circle diameter. It does this through a 2.750" male (raised) pilot that registers on the companion flange bore, and 4 bolt holes at 0.438" diameter that draw the faces together into a rigid, vibration-resistant joint. Forged steel construction gives it the durability to outlast the vehicle in normal service.

When to Choose a Flange Yoke Over a Slip Yoke

Slip yokes allow axial travel, which is useful on independent suspensions and short wheelbase vehicles where suspension travel changes the effective driveshaft length. When axial travel is not needed -- or where the shaft is too short for a slip yoke to operate safely -- a flange yoke is the correct choice. The 2-2-479 is the 1310 series solution for those fixed-length driveshaft positions. It also enables quick shaft removal by unbolting the flange rather than collapsing the spline, which speeds service intervals on commercial vehicles.

Installation Guide

• Index the new yoke to the same rotational position as the one removed (mark before disassembly)
• Inspect companion flange for cracks, corrosion, or runout before reinstalling
• Pilot must be fully seated -- do not allow any gap between flange faces
• Torque fasteners to OEM specification; for custom applications, 30-40 ft-lb is a common starting point for 0.438" bolts
• Re-torque after 50 miles if this is a new assembly
