Category Information
Most driveshaft failures that didn’t have to happen trace back to inadequate lubrication — and inadequate lubrication usually traces back to a missing, damaged, or clogged zerk fitting that made greasing the joint impossible. A zerk fitting costs almost nothing. The U-joint, slip yoke, or carrier bearing it protects costs significantly more, and the labor to replace it costs more still. We stock zerk fittings in the thread sizes and styles used across driveshaft applications — straight, 45-degree, and 90-degree configurations in the standard thread pitches. Replacing a damaged fitting before the next grease service interval is one of the simplest, most cost-effective drivetrain maintenance steps there is.
