500168-2 grease zerk .125-27NPT thread. Hex 0.438″, OAL 0.66″. Pipe-thread NPT zerk — for grease ports using 1/8″ NPT threads rather than .250-28 machine thread.
Full Description
500168-2 is a grease zerk fitting with .125-27NPT (1/8" NPT pipe thread) rather than the .250-28 machine thread used on most driveshaft U-joints. NPT-thread grease ports are found in industrial equipment, some agricultural components, and aftermarket-machined parts where the port was tapped with a pipe-thread tap rather than a .250-28 machine thread tap. These two thread types are not interchangeable.

NPT threads are tapered -- they tighten by wedging as the fitting is driven deeper, sealing on the thread flanks. Machine-thread zerks (.250-28) use straight threads. Attempting to install an NPT fitting in a machine-thread port will either not engage or will cross-thread the port. Always identify the thread type before ordering replacement zerks.
