232830 -- NPTF Grease Zerk Fitting
232830 is a grease zerk fitting with .125-27NPTF (National Pipe Taper Fuel / Dryseal) thread. NPTF differs from standard NPT in that it is designed to seal without additional sealant tape or compound -- the thread-on-thread metal contact creates a pressure-tight seal. This fitting is used in applications where the grease port must seal positively under pressure, preventing grease from weeping at the thread interface.

NPTF threads are compatible with NPTF ports only. Installing in a standard NPT port may work in low-pressure grease applications but does not provide the dryseal function. The 0.500" hex (1/2") is larger than the .312" and .375" hex on .250-28 machine-thread zerks -- use the correct size hex wrench to avoid rounding the fitting body.
