Not every u-joint failure announces itself. Sometimes it's just wear — quiet, gradual, then gone. The UDS UJ68720 Universal Joint 30.2 x 81.8 - Fits 68720 Series is a direct swap before it becomes a bigger problem.
The 68720 series runs a varies cap diameter across a varies width — built for multi-application use. It's the standard cross on fits multiple series/platforms — verify dimensions.
Cap retention style is OSR (Outside Snap Ring). Clips retain cap from outside the yoke bore. Most common retention method on domestic trucks. No special tools needed — standard snap ring pliers work.
Greasable with standard chassis grease — service every 30,000–50,000 miles for best longevity. Use a quality CV/chassis grease, not wheel bearing grease..
