Full Description
European vehicles skip the u-joint in favor of a rubber flex disc -- it's quieter, smoother, and eliminates the angular velocity variation that u-joints produce. The GAV01-003 is the replacement disc.
GAV01-003 Flex Disc Specifications
The GAV01-003 rubber flex disc: 105MM bolt circle | 6 bolt holes | 10MM hole dia | 26MM disc width. Includes steel shield... A3, TT, S3, Leon, Altea, Octavia, Golf, Bora, Caddy, Passat, New Beetle.
Application: VW. Flex discs absorb both rotational and angular movement. Hardened or cracked rubber passes vibration through instead -- if you can see cracking or the disc feels stiff, it's time for replacement.
